One of the things I would miss here on Mastodon was all of the alerts from my local infrastructure and government twitter accounts. These will likely take a very long time to make the migration.

With bird.makeup, you can create bot accounts that put those tweets in your Mastodon timeline. For instance, I follow the Washington State Patrol account for regional weather related road closures and accident reports:

@wspd7pio

@awilbert @wspd7pio @vincent I'm late to this, but fabulous thing.

Is there a way to delete a bot account created in this way?

@gpollara @awilbert @wspd7pio Thank you! You can simply unfollow a user, and if you are the last one to follow, it will be deleted

@vincent @awilbert @wspd7pio ah, that's neat.

One enhancement would be great - a link to the tweet from which the message came. In case want to follow conversation it sparked over there, etc....

Otherwise, great work, thank you @vincent!

@gpollara @awilbert @wspd7pio That's also already there! On the mastodon web UI, if you click on the timestamp of a replicated tweet, it will take you to the original

@vincent @awilbert @wspd7pio that's genius @vincent , thank you!

Though FYI it doesn't work on timestamp on mobile. In pwa you select 'open original' from 3 dot menu. In Megalodon you select from same menu 'open original'.

Either way, takes you straight there. Thank you.
