"We [the US] need a set of reforms, passed on a bipartisan basis, that changes the political incentives for candidates.  Among them are nonpartisan redistricting, easier ballot access, open primaries, frequent and accessible debates, financial transparency in campaigns with spending limits, term limits, and ranked-choice voting, which allows voters to express preferences among multiple candidates."

@lashman what? I thought Cloud went on the romantic ferris wheel ride with Cait Sith while wearing the outfit from the Don Corneo chapter for everyone! It's the best part of the story.

Bernie needs to put out a statement regarding his more vocal supporters, saying that Hillary Clinton is a deeply terrible person who ran a hubris campaign and whiffed it, and she literally had slave labor in the AR governor's mansion, and that it's perfectly reasonable to boo her

@alex@mas.to simple? If a recipe has more than 5 ingredients it's chances of getting made in my house are exceedingly low. 😅😂🤣

The paranormal King Falls AM team makes the transition from a encounter of the week to true drama in a seamless manner. I'll definitely be looking forward to the next phase. They just went on an arc break so it's a perfect time to catch up with the story over at audioboom.com/channels/4256036

@lashman so between dec and jan, when few polls happen, they up the requirements to edge out. Now that it would help a centrist they relax the requirements.

@tigzikk it probably will be for a while ... but i know they want to release it on linux and osx as well when it's closer to being done

@anahata@mastodon.social it's strange to see Herbert compared to Tolkien. I devoured and loved it. I sloughed through and hated it.

I get what you're saying about the Irulan passages, although I don't think any of them embedded themselves into my consciousness like Gurney Haleck's "if wishes were fishes we'd all cast nets."

I wonder why I read 2.5 LotR books and only 1 Dune. I may have to go rectify this great injustice I visit upon myself!

@shugmonkey @ChrisTalleras@mastodon.art the style on this! I want that demon's face to be the splash screen as my laptop loads. Something that flashes by fast enough that anyone that caught a glimpse would be unnerved and uncertain about what they had seen.

@ikafry i forsee mad parents as kids try out colored pencils and paint brushes on 3DS screens just like the cover art...

@ChrisTalleras@mastodon.art

Just went trolling the Dune hashtag and there's a (2020) show coming out? I don't know if I've seen the other adaptations. But won't this be the 4th attempt to cover the same ground?

I read (just the first book) a long time ago yet it left such an impression. I can't put my finger on why I liked it so much, but Frank Herbert had some sort of arcane mastery. So many memetic things from a single source: maud'dib, Bene Gesserit witch, the litany against fear, and the careful, patient, and intentional ecological work of Kynes with the Fremen.

After learning about , from The Happiness Lab, I decided to try to be a little less pessimistic and more jovial version of me at work today. N=1, even if I didn't notice it reflected by people around me I had a better than normal day. I managed to be pleasant when a new issue cropped up an hour after I should have been gone for the day. Come to think of it, maybe staying late should count _against_ the experiment! 😄

@checkervest no, that's what I have to worry about. I scrolled through your history and I can tell this'll turn out amazing when you come back to it.

@lashman just checked out the common'hood steam page. I was sad to see it was windows only, it seems like a fun concept.
