@anahata@mastodon.social it's strange to see Herbert compared to Tolkien. I devoured #Dune and loved it. I sloughed through #LotR and hated it.

I get what you're saying about the Irulan passages, although I don't think any of them embedded themselves into my consciousness like Gurney Haleck's "if wishes were fishes we'd all cast nets."

I wonder why I read 2.5 LotR books and only 1 Dune. I may have to go rectify this great injustice I visit upon myself!
