@anahata@mastodon.social would you prefer that I point such questions to your tabletop.social alt?
"America is still fighting bitterly over Obamacare, a minor — at least compared to Bernie’s plans — tweak of the health care system that was based on what was originally a Republican idea"
And that's why so many of Sanders' supporters are so fervent, Chris. We feel like the working class has been sold out because now the ideas the supposedly left champion are the ideas that the right used to entertain before they moved further right.
@PajamaBiden2020 jc, this is gold. You capture his essence, I hear his voice and cadence in this.
Listen, when I was a boy we didn't do social media. Our social media was going outside. You know, having a face-to-face conversation man-to-man. These days everything is different. We've got Facebook, Twitter, and SnappedChat. Don't even get me started on this Fetterverse website, I don't understand it. Never have, never will. Hey, I'm a politician, not a computer guy. Point is, Barack Obama won't respond to my friend request and I don't understand why.
Talking about table top gaming... this teen kid was talking about how powerful psions are in D&D5E. He said he railroaded a game by pumping his charisma stat and taking over the king they were supposed to help.
While I think I would make a terrible DM/storyteller, I think I could have dealt with that. There's the divine right of rule bonus to the save, wealthy protections from attacks, competent advisors acting the states best interest.
Why would someone want to ruin a game like that?
Alright, friends. I figured out how to add to the bounty on issue #2351 to add share invidious links from #NewPipe. Here's hoping we see it!
Another thing, listening to Liberty Vigilence, a real play #podcast in the Liberty setting, made me realize how much I miss table top RPGing. It's been maybe 15 years, and any more I feel like I have a hard enough time being me. But the group dynamic really reminded me of the fun I had playing.
I like how the Liberty setting uses "Atrius endures" as a saying. I don't know if it was done on purpose. But given the horror setting, it really echos the House of Atrius from Greek mythology. Cursed to suffer through generations.
Liberty Tales from the Tower tells horror/suspense stories that thread a needle for entertainment without feeling campy.
Mayonnaise round 2; the rematch
So, apparently our whisks have sublimated into the luminiferous ether. At a guess the refusal to hand wash them led to corrosion and subsequent disposal. Since a already had the egg yolk in the bowl and the oil measured out before starting... I went even lower tech and grabbed a fork.
A grueling but tedious battle ensued. But I have turned one egg yolk, some dijon, a cup of oil, some vinegar, and salt into something that looks like mayonnaise. Victory!
@InternetKevin it's such a shame. Early in the season I liked her messaging. She is still one of the most articulate on the stage. Heck, her take down of Bloomberg during his first debate was masterful.
But the policy shifts are ceding ground to the right before even reaching the negotiation table. The unfounded accusations don't look good. And now this capitulation of a core campaign principle... Instead of looking pragmatic it looks disingenuous.
Whoooohooooo! I ran a long experimentation and I finally have good colors! Here is the Book Production Report 3 article with the solution: https://www.davidrevoy.com/article757/the-english-book-printed-project-production-report-3

@Kotik @yogthos@mastodon.social was that Avatar the first Gravity bender?
@immychan tangentially related: i try to apply most arguements for encryption to firearms and see if it changes how I feel about the latter.
While at first the analogy feels shakey at first, encryption allows bad actors to keep illegal activity secret and thus continue to perpetrate it. So there is an arguement for encryption being able to hurt people, similar to firearms.
@InternetKevin what a powerful way to undermine her own message that since SuperPACs give special interests leverage over candidates they should be abolished.
Human... maybe?
