As for your... interesting... take on copying information vs. the theft of a car, all I can do is further implore you to please, PLEASE, seek help from a medical professional. People who publicly put their words out in public, on public timelines, with a public scope, with the express purpose of said words being publicly seen by members of the general public, and commented on in a public forum, are typically looking to *expand* the reach of their words, and have that reach amplified, not to shrink it.

anyway, the next time I do a sprint on fediEngine, I'm going to focus on the "filling out" parts of the fetcher (looking for and fetching missing things rather than just getting the first or last things), and get some export facilities going.

That should allow the simple creation of per-actor, per-tag, or even per-instance searchable text archives, that can be shared as attachments to statuses, or even shared over BitTorrent.
