I am getting the feeling that I * could * get banned from this instance, sooner or later.

People have been pegging me as "transphobic", despite zero evidence of me having even the slightest of me holding any irrational fear of trans individuals, and multiple posts saying we should love trans people and be kind to them.

Ah, I see! That's a better goal, though like you said it's really draining as well. I used to be more vocal about blocking stuff last summer, when Gab joined fedi and there was _a lot_ of discourse (or rather screeching) going on. For example, I posted a series of screenshots of imaginary applications where blocking was implemented similarly to Tusky, except more extreme. I wanted people to understand how features like that may have bad consequences later on.

But I didn't like the attention I got and I noticed that all this negativity I surrounded myself with started to have negative effects on me. So I toned it down, moved to a more wholesome instance, and now I try not to get too invested into that topic again.

Always remember that your well-being comes first.

@Feuerfuchs Thanks. ...Although my goal isn't really to convince the trash people, it's to make it known that there's more people who disagree with them, who are okay with you having a different opinion.

@IceWolf The best thing you can do, for your own mental health, is to stop caring about people like these. Sure, I post some comments if I stumble across an unfair instance block, but I won't try to argue with them. Most of they time, they'll consider you a nazi (sympathizer) and disregard anything you say. It's really not worth the effort.

This is happening all. the. time.

The first time I really became aware of it was the fiasco around hardcoded client blocklists. Those garbage people insist that you must hardcode a block of Gab in your client or you're a Nazi supporter. This is still going on. They're still harassing people over having their own opinions. Gahhh.

And just now, people are saying the witches.live admin is a racist – with no evidence, from what I heard.

*bares fangs and grrrowls*

Rrrgh. I'm getting tired of constantly defending people's right to have their own opinions against a seemingly endless mob of "you must do things our way or you're a racist and a Nazi and you kick puppies for fun!".

And those people smearing others for no apparent reason, with "evidence" that does /not/ mean they're actually [whatever].

On the one paw, I'm /done/ (for now anyway). On the other, it feels like if I stop, innocent people get their lives ruined...
