@a7 @judgedread @oneway @terryenglish Sure, in some areas, mastodon has more options. But in others (like personalization) it more than makes up for it.

@a7 @judgedread @oneway @terryenglish Pleroma instances look different from one-another because the end user and the admin both have control over the theme. each user can have a completely different looking theme and nobody is doing anything out of the ordinary. There's a reason why pleroma instances have so many themes, because pleroma is made to bend over backwards for the user.

Mastodon instances mostly look the same, same color, same frontpage but all that changes is the admin, maybe a picture in the corner and who's blocked / not blocked
