@Ste1lar This is why I'm strongly against domain blocks. It seems like admins, mainly those pulled over by Gargron during his campaign for "muh nazi free twitter" like their echo chambers, and as such overuse them to no end, to the point they end up with a fraction of the already tiny fediverse community to which end a group chat would probably work better. Not to mention they give people on their server no chance to object to it, thus forcing them into their own echo chamber, further fractioning the fedi. This is not the philosophy of the federated social web. The fact gargron is probably the worst offender while aiming to pull people into his junta of poor code doesn't help making him any less disapproved of.

He needs to realize that Gab's a consumer product, and that his target market is conservatives 55+ who simply want a not-Twitter place to do patriotic virtue signalling.

That market will happily pay yearly subscription fees for cosmetic upgrades, has disposable income for it, and is not interested in "configuring" anything or knowing what a fediverse is.

So this may be unpopular on the #Fediverse but #Gab should be lauded for it's embrace of #FreeSoftware and #OpenStandards. #Gab it bringing more users and people to open platforms and is now developing and promoting open ecosystems. #Twitter , #Facebook , and #Google would never do this and have been working to close and demote open systems. I am exited at the Gab #fork because of the addition of #groups to the Mastodon a feature that is supported by the fediverse but lacking in #Mastodon.
