We live in this world, and it isn't perfect. We wake up every day and we try our best.

And yes, good things happen for bad people, and terrible things happen to good people. I don't understand that and I don't think very many people do.

We strive and we try and sometimes we have these small triumphs and we tell ourselves "That memory will carry us through the hard times" but it doesn't. It just isn't enough.

Sorrow and grief, these emotions were more well known in an earlier world. We feel so little true pain these days that when it bites us it is magnified, it is agony.

These emotions trigger the requiem. There are two definitions of requiem. One is a requiem for a soul and that is not something I am familiar with. The other definition is as a token of remembrance.

These tokens are physical and spiritual, a bauble, a song, or a memory; as a memory they are permanent and they hurt. You take them out and dust them off and feel the sorrow again. As time goes by the memory hurts less but it always hurts.

We create them as an honor, something we owe. Our duty. We want to assuage the painful experience with good memories but all too often we temper the good experiences with painful memories.

When your friends are in need, draw them close and offer aid and succor. Pray for their healing. Strive for patience to allow them the time they need to mend and remember that time is up to them. Everyone's wounds do not heal the same.
@Mitsu @coolboymew Anime is not destroying society. Anime is pushing our civilization forwards. Anime gave us a new goal: artificially engineered catgirls.

And we will achieve our new goal. Same as we created donkeys.
@Mitsu there is a significant chance of that happening as the new gen is very into anime

Supporting fact-based conversations across partisan & ideological divides is more important than politics rn. Same with supporting information distribution that can't be censored. These are necessary to secure all future progress in the public interest. #LiberalValues #fediverse
