if you've noticed, most of the Nobel Prizes are awarded by Sweden. only the Peace Prize is awarded by Norway. it is said that Alfred Nobel, the Swedish inventor of dynamite, felt guilty about inventing something so deadly. he felt that the Swedes were too warlike, too colonial, to award such a prize. Norway had no such history, so he stated in his will that Norway would award that prize.
