Welp, assuming today is really is the Day of the Rope for Kiwi Farms, it feels like another nail in the coffin for the independent web.

The Internet of the future is in the hands of the Silicon Valley oligopolies (with the only exception being countries within the Sino-Russian sphere, where the Internet there will be dominated by the Sino-Russian oligopolies). No more interesting and weird collections of essays like in the 90’s. No more independent blogs. No more independent web forums (Reddit is going to be as close you are going to get).
