@tyil IRC and XMPP don't do VOIP to my recollection. Voice and video chat are kind of important in this day and age. @interru @anornymorse

@anornymorse They suffer from the same problem that mastodon.social does. People don't get what federated networks are so everyone joins the main server because that one is already in people's minds. @tyil @interru

@tyil I hope not. Federated communication is a wonderful idea. We just need server software that isn't complete garbage. Once we have that the rest will be easy as there's already decent clients. @interru @anornymorse
