@DuchessOfMars thanks for following back also. No German language, I guess? Well, if I write in German and you wonna participate because of maybe some international buzzwords, plz tell me, and I will change into English...
also dear @terryenglish
@why ๐ฅง
@DuchessOfMars @terryenglish same every language, I guess. Guttenberg with inventing the printing techniques changed a lot of things...
@terryenglish oh. in German language there have been several efforts for a better ruling - the effect: Old people like me are allowed to use the old ruling. Young people learned different kind of rulings at school depending on the age because there was an ongoing fight on getting to the best ne ruling laws between dictionary publishers! Good business to have a monopole on publishing a dictionary out of historical reason, isnt it? Another huge publishing company wanted to participate....
@thebitchisback I'll choose Tom Hanks over vegemite thanks. ๐คข @Oblivia @Terry
@DuchessOfMars How long ago was that? I remember reading that Shakespeare would just make up words like a boss. @damuc2
@damuc2 I would say that the most annoying thing about English is its lack of consistency when it comes to its own rules for spelling, pronunciation etc. This is probably because it does borrow a lot from other languages so I guess it comes with pluses and minuses.
@terryenglish oh plzzzz
why dumb
sometimes I am in lack of describing something in German words, and at the same time, there is an English word existing, and you recognize that the AmericanEnglish language is doing good by integrating words of the motherlanguages of immigrants....
I have moved to terryenglish@blob.cat so please follow me there.
