Which is why I firmly believe that actively promoting it (as opposed to just being good at the game everybody is playing) makes someone a shortsighted certified selfish asshole.

Our whole economy is trimmed on making ever more profit with less expense. An optimization process that reduces redundancy almost everywhere and offloads work to not-yet-accounted-for externalities (like you)
Less and less redundancy, means more things will fail sooner.
The people promoting this process, are also the people with the most superfluous resources and thus more redundancy and more failure resistant. (and thus they should be redundant 😋)
