@terryenglish Yes. Debian/Ubuntu, RHEL/CentOS, Arch btw, the default Gentoo profiles.... yeah that cancer's metastasized pretty bad.

Most DE's require it now, too. GNOME and Cinnamon do, KDE doesn't (for now) but you have to be careful that anything pulling in network manager doesn't pull in systemd, etc.

Then there's consolekit vs elogind, etc. I fucking hate lennart poeterring.
