@colonelj So in other words you just don't care for their politics. 🙄

@colonelj Yes because the mainstream corporate media is doing such a stellar job.

@terryenglish why should we be tasked with propping up an "alternative" that's just another echo of the exact same song, except with an extra layer of smug pretension? if they see their purpose as parroting a message that you can already get literally everywhere else, well, their failure of imagination is not my funding crisis. at least the mainstream corporate media pays its own damn bills. (when they can't get away with stiffing them.)
@colonelj

@pcachu I disagree with your assessment that it's the same as fully corporate media. It's certainly not a perfect media institution but it's still better than something like MSNBC.
@colonelj

@terryenglish Being a better media outlet than MSNBC is like being a better skin disease than leprosy.
@colonelj
@terryenglish equivalent in terms of printed media. can't confuse the news personalities with the whole corporation.

@colonelj I'm not following you into your desperate journey into the weeds there.

@terryenglish @colonelj It’s a publicly funded propaganda outlet. What isn’t wrong with it?

@Rape That would depend on what your perspective on what propaganda is now wouldn't it? @colonelj

@Rape The correct answer is yes. Not that it was really a question. 🤷‍♂️ @colonelj

@terryenglish @colonelj I guess if you want to be a contrarian. Most people would agree that it’s a bad thing, in the abstract at least.

@Rape I'm talking about what an individual considers propaganda based on the political lens through which they see the world. Not about whether propaganda is good or bad in and of itself. @colonelj

@terryenglish @colonelj That’s not what you said, and most people also agree that propaganda aligned with their own takes is still propaganda. You’re still the weird one. Idrc tho.

@Rape Sure you don't, Rape. Enjoy the extra clarification for free then. There are plenty of times (even from my own anecdotal experience) where people use the term propaganda for partisan means consciously and unconsciously.
