@terryenglish short, gay explanation: it relays your posts to the servers on the relay (and vice versa) so they show on TWKN

@terryenglish I guess? It's supposed to make it so that if you have a small instance you can still find people and statuses, because fedi servers are not automatically connected to eachother

it helps with not having to discover every instance out there by luck. If you connect with a relay, you will automatically start federating with all other instances connected. When posting a status, the relay wil broadcast this to all other instances connected and vice versa
