@Cheeseness That shot is pretty good regardless. At the very least, it's better than anything I've ever taken. π Did you use your phone to take it?
@Tutanota I chose 'Other' because I don't really think about it. There are times when I use Tutanota while using a VPN or Tor, but I don't really do it specifically for that purpose.
@Azure π That probably sounds like something Steve Jobs would say, doesn't it? From what I know, he really looked at computers as 'works of art' rather than just tools. It's why he expected people to use Apple products as-is.
@may I don't really know much about PHP development. As for Python, which is what I use, I have to admit that Windows probably provides a better experience.
On Linux, one of the most common issues is that it is very hard to get a 'specific version' of Python that isn't in your distro's repository. This is compounded by the fact that a lot of distros don't provide the latest packages.
Hopefully, this gets better with tools like Toolbox and Distrobox though.
@gmate8 π I am also kind of with you there. I use Linux Mint Cinnamon because I just want something that is familiar and works out-of-the-box. I make very few changes, if any at all. (I still use the default wallpaper! π)
@Suiseiseki It's relatively more open source than what most people use while still being easily accessible.
For those #Linux users out there, what's your reason for using it?
@unfa I just listened to your 'PipeWire (LMC #12)' song via Audius. It was a blast! I doubt there is anyone else who can make listening to all that technical jargon about Linux so much fun. Seriously, I just became your lifelong fan! π
@Suzie97@mastodon.social Also, has anyone ever watched this cartoon as a kid?
I got encouraged to record a reading of the new lore I drafted for my FPS game called Liblast.
So I have redrafted it once more and gave it a shot! If you like light-hearted science-fiction, FOSS and FPS games, you should find this enjoyable :D
The recording as well as the music were made using Ardour, Arch Linux and various open-source aduio plug-ins.

@bitwarden @tulpa@fosstodon.org I tried using the CLI tool to automate the creation of regular backups with a script but it keeps asking me for the master password multiple times. π

Flatpak seems to be getting more attention than ever. If you're on the same boat, try these tips: https://itsfoss.com/flatpak-tips-tweaks/
I found this interesting article regarding the password vs. passphrase debate.
https://proton.me/blog/protonmail-com-blog-password-vs-passphrase
The takeaway is basically, given that the password is actually of considerable length, it doesn't matter which one you use.
However, if it's a password that you'll need to remember, it's probably better to use a passphrase. The master password for the password manager you use is a good example. (That's one password it can't remember for you.)
@unfa Wow! That's great! It's kind of like a virtual book reading. π I think the video could have been better, though, if there was scrolling text (like in Star Wars) so viewers could follow along as you read it.
