@unfa How did the premiere on Peertube go? What was the view count?

@StroomAfwaarts @thunderbird You can install the latest version of Thunderbird via Flatpak on most distros.

(Installation instructions can be found at the bottom of the page.)

@Suzie97@mastodon.social I have to agree. Flatpak is amazing. It really takes how the Linux community has done things and massively improves it without trying to change it fundamentally. I think that may be why it is winning out against AppImage and Snap.

While they are both great formats and have their own strengths, I think they fail to address their audience and how they prefer to work. It's more or less the same reason why Microsoft Store didn't take Windows users by storm.

@Ultra @Phaserune @thelinuxEXP I'll be looking forward to it. Remember to share the link here on Mastodon. 🙂 👍

@freezr @unfa Wait.... 🤔 Doesn't that make you a 'Linux fanboy' too, given that you are arguing over its name? Just saying. 😏

@bitwarden Does it matter whether you use a passphrase or a reasonably long password if you use a password manager?

@BrodieOnLinux I had one and it was a ton of fun. I really liked it. Some of the games I enjoyed on it include Sonic Colors and Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions.

@killyourfm Cool! What's the story about and do you plan to sell it somewhere? I quite like its art style.

Also, what did you use to make that? I hope you don't mind the questions! 😄

@martin_wohlert@die-partei.social @nitrokey Oh! I see. Thanks for clearing that up. 👍 😄

@martin_wohlert@die-partei.social @nitrokey Are those two separate Nitrokeys? 🤔

@Tutanota
[It's FOSS] Crunchyroll believes that many hackers used Tutanota domain emails to hack their accounts, which is why they banned Tutanota from their list. Moreover, they recommend users to use email accounts powered by "Big Tech" companies for hassle-free sign up to their services.

News flash to Crunchyroll: hackers use all kinds of email platforms. Services like Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, and everything else are constantly subject to abuse by malicious actors...

I think @Phaserune and @thelinuxEXP both make valid points. Of course, I am on the side of 'Linux is totally not difficult to use' but I also know that we can do a lot better.

While there are tons of resources, I think we need to make them even more accessible for newcomers who don't know where to even look. Think about ProtonDB and WineHQ. Although both cover similar things, ProtonDB presents it in a better format.

Things are definitely improving but I believe we still have more work to do. 😄

@glowl @Tutanota Oops! My bad. It seems that I didn't read it properly. 😅 Thanks.

@Tutanota Also, I wonder if @protonmail is affected by this issue as well. 🤔

@Tutanota Have you contacted Crunchyroll yet regarding this issue? This might be easier to fix as the email service provider.

It is quite concerning that quite a few services seem to be blocking domains related to Tutanota. One possible solution might be to encourage users to use custom domains.

New video! If you're looking to get started with #Linux gaming, but you don't know how to, and everything looks too confusing, this is where you start:

@Suzie97@mastodon.social Wow! I didn't know about this. It reminds me of when I used to look at all those 'visualizations' in Windows Media Player while listening to music (under Windows XP). I used to just scroll through them randomly until I found one that fitted the rhythm of the song.

It really had a lot of them. It's a pity that a lot of media players don't include enough of those anymore. Anyway, perhaps Spotify is trying to achieve the same effect by letting you create your own interpretation.

@techlore@mastodon.social It's nice to see the being mentioned in the original source. I can't believe that a link to a video from ShortCircuit was included in a report from MIT. (Click on 'nuanced' in the 21st paragraph.) 😄
