@Tutanota @protonvpn @protonmail The Librem 5 is a new platform by @purism that aims to provide their users with a surveillance-free smartphone. While it still has a long way to go, many would agree that it has potential. As privacy and security oriented services, it would be invaluable for your users and the entire and community if you officially supported it. We await your response. ๐Ÿ˜€

@sudo We've been in contact with @purism already, also to prepare the Tutanota app for the Librem 5, but interest seems to have died down on Purism's end...

@Tutanota @sudo The Librem 5 is not some crazy new platform, it's just a Linux phone, like the #PinePhone. As such you don't need to communicate with them to develop an app, it just needs to be FreeDesktop compliant. It'll then also run on Linux desktops, which I'd totally appreciate as well.
Maybe you could do such a thing fairly easily using Electron (but please consider something lighter weight), since if I understand correctly, the Android app is also just the website, packaged.

@solarkraft There already is a desktop app for @Tutanota if you do not know already. You can get it here: tutanota.com/faq#desktop.

@sudo @Tutanota I didn't know, thanks. So the most difficult step is already done! Now we only need an ARM build and you'll be able to run it on a Linux phone. That's the beauty of them!

@Tutanota Thank you for taking an initiative towards supporting better. It is not a good sign when a startup seems disinterested in new opportunities for their own product. We hope that @purism will tend to this matter soon. Although they have their own email service, a successful platform always encourages diversity. ๐Ÿค”

@Tutanota While I understand the situation, I hope this will not deter you from working towards supporting the . Keep up the good work! ๐Ÿ˜„ ๐Ÿ‘

@sudo @Tutanota @purism

I'm a @Tutanota customer and have a Librem 5 on order so this would be appreciated.
