Yes, their origins are in a tribe that left North Africa and the middle east and came into the UK via Spain.

Scots-Irish are ethnic Scots. There is great variation among the Irish, but for most of them, North Africa is a more logical homeland.
Might check that family tree to make sure that these people are actually Irish and not just passing through or of Scots descent.
