To all those who claim gold is the answer to our money problems.
When was the last time you went to a grocery store, farm, or restaurants and asked if they had change for some bouillon.
@koherecoWatchdog Yes you can. I meant that for people who believe gold will replace cash as a means to buy basic goods.
@societyoutcasts Ah, well I think that was possible a long ass time ago but I certainly wouldn't buy gold with that expectation. But even if cash is eliminated I’m sure gold will always be tradable into whatever shops are demanding. And perhaps if cash is eliminated, gold’s popularity will get a boost and gain ground for direct bartering.
@societyoutcasts I dream of being able to ditch banking entirely and converting a chunk of it into gold, which seems to have a bit more inflation resistence than cash, as well as being a bit less flammable if there's a house fire.
@koherecoWatchdog It is less flammable for sure. What would you convert the rest into?
@societyoutcasts I would want a diverse mix of gold, cash in $, €, £, and a couple different cryptocurrencies
@societyoutcasts IIUC, gold is being used as a storage medium for those who have opted out of banking. Can’t you always get cash for gold?
