@AnnyJoe @purism idea is you are customer to purism and they will not give your name and info to the upstream service. It's like a proxy for your account info. Of course you must trust the proxy.

I guess I never understood that my phone service provider was passing along that information to anyone.

What are the situations where that would happen?

@AnnyJoe @purism they sell association between your IMEI and your name. Then they sell locations of IMEI numbers, then they also probably sell your dns requests.

They exploit you, and make you pay for it (with a discount. Aren't they all fair?)
