@switchingsocial@mastodon.at @funkwhale Bookmarked to check out over the weekend.

Was one second from tossing my laptop (coffee hadn't kicked in yet). 😂 Headphones work just fine on everything else. And on the laptop yesterday just fine.. But no sound as user or root.. Well there was but extremely low. Whatever reason I had to run alsactl init and the sound is back.

So far no issues stripping some crap out of Debian.. Removed all those localities from Task and Firefox. Not going to be needing localities for Khmer, Norway, Greek, Thai, etc and so on. Might as well save myself some space.

Switched to Slim for the login manager. GDM3 was annoying me. 😂

@rakor haven't had issues with the firewall. As on the router other than my ssh port. All other ports are closed on the router itself. Which doesn't affect my laptop connection. Plus with the firewall, not a huge issue to me. Used to do alot when I had windows. Far less with Linux I feel.

So firewall is mostly a non issue. Don't use a VM, don't have any ports running out of hand. Plus other than ssh everything else is closed down when I'm away.

@rakor I don't forget about. I'm now being smart any repositories like Spotify, Atom Editor, etc I keep a text file for a quick copy & paste as well as a list of what apps I want to reinstall.

Surprise, surprise, Raspberry Pi 4 has been launched!

Faster CPU, dual 4k HDMI support, up to 4GB RAM, USB type C, USB3 and (finally!) no more bottlenecking the ethernet port over USB2: full gigabit speeds!

Also: same old price 😍

Well my co-worker is on vacation this week. So I get 3 stops on my delivery route every night. I'll be loading up on the and while on the road. Maybe I should eat some coffee beans for a snack too. lol

I'm gonna be beat especially since I'll be walking to & from work as well. I'll be damned if I'm blowing 20 bucks on uber to and from on a 10min drive. That 100+ bucks can go elsewhere.

@lwriemen Right. I know with Mint before I could purge all of Libre Office without any issues. So I'm stuck leaving it on the debian setup.

Only thing I'm not keen on with is Libre Office is tied to Gnome. and hence can't purge it all from my system. Hardly use any office suite honestly.
