Given that I've now heard multiple times media mention that the current floods in Europe are a once in a thousand year event I've got to ask: Is that really still the case? My interpretation of IPCC reports was that things like these are going to be more and more likely.

Based on the last 5 years I wouldn't be surprised if this is now a once every 10 year occurrence.
