You may already know that I'm not a big fan of enterprise #wiki, as they tend to become trash cans for content that is no longer valid or important enough anyway.

The authors often don't even remember writing the content in the first place. Me included.

But what really bothers me: who the hell thought that a comment function in a wiki could be useful in any way?

As a admin of such a system, while i hate its propriatary nature, I must say there is value to it.

But only if people can properly define how to use it and some self controlling mechanism prevents it from getting outdated.

Ours has some inline comment system. Same i see here.
Pointing someone on a spot and use it as a temporary short async communication is valuable.

But I have seen long running discussions there, thats what indeed other channels are for.
