It was a surprise climbing the #HomeAssistant learning curve that the _most obvious_ application for such a tool is so complex to do.

If users expect nothing else, they'd think the on-and-off controller functions delivered by one of these plug-in timers would be easy to duplicate.

HomeAssistant should make that use-case super easy. A look at community discussions/questions reveals it is a challenge for many newbies. Easy with experience, but still dozens of clicks and some coding required.
