@martijnbraam Ooh! What lens? It feels kinda vintage!
@BenjaminNelan For sure! I still love Node based so much!
@BenjaminNelan I get it! Being locked in to certain templates, formats, etc. is tough. That's why I'm so excited about formats like USD taking over. Hopefully more universal standards take effect. And thank goodness for OpenFX plugins being so well standardized
@BenjaminNelan Oof! Do you dual boot?
@BenjaminNelan I've been using Fusion for a long time and I absolutely love it for VFX work. But for motion graphics and animation it can be a bit overkill and slower of a process. So I'm especially excited for Autograph to take those on! And heck, I may love it for VFX too. Gonna try it for sure!
@BenjaminNelan I want to get some of their plugins. I've been playing with Autograph a good bit and trying to learn it. It's super exciting to have!
@killyourfm So true🤣
@fedora @killyourfm @frameworkcomputer I don't think the "YEAR of the Linux desktop" is ever going to come... because as we are seeing, it's "the YEARS of the Linux desktop"! Slowly, and now, steadily it is gaining great adoption and people are looking at Linux more seriously!
Linux vs Windows being head to head on performance is crazy. The conversation around desktop Linux is changing, and more and more people are listening!
Thank you to @killyourfm for this great article on Forbes about our performance, to @frameworkcomputer for being a wonderful platform to enable this, to the Fedora contributors for literally making Fedora Linux, and to the Linux community at large! 🚀
@gardiner_bryant Haven't really tried VM's much, outside of testing new distros, but that seems like a good solution
@gardiner_bryant I gotcha! The lack of certain codecs, really just AAC audio in my use, is frustrating and I wish they could implement it. Also really wish Affinity would come to Linux!
I run a video production company and we have an all Linux pipeline using Resolve Studio, Blender, Autograph, Krita & Inkscape, and more! Works great... minus the AAC audio thing, but we don't shoot with anything that uses it so very rarely do we have to transcode. Also, it really does require NVIDIA
@lorendias I'm actually shocked how good the build quality seems to be! I really hope they develop a new Librem 5 with more modern hardware soon!
@gardiner_bryant Do you use an all Linux pipeline at Heavy Metal? I don't think I've seen you talk about your production pipeline on the channel. If I have it's most likely been a while
@Blisterexe OK, you have to have the AMD Pro drivers installed for Resolve to work on an AMD GPU
@LinuxToday Watch, GNOME just forks Cosmic🤣
@Blisterexe Oof! I've never had that happen before! What distro are you on and what hardware do you use?
@Blisterexe I've always just installed Resolve on Ubuntu systems using the standard .run file they provide. Never an issue except for installing 2-3 missing dependencies!
And here we go! DaVinci Resolve Studio 19 on my Kubuntu 22.04 machine! Excited to give these new features a go!🎉

@governa OnlyOffice is THE best!! I use it everyday!
If you use AppImages, you need to check out GearLever... which ironically is a Flatpak😂 It makes "installing" and managing AppImages so easy and a much better experience!
