@gardiner_bryant Do you use an all Linux pipeline at Heavy Metal? I don't think I've seen you talk about your production pipeline on the channel. If I have it's most likely been a while
@gardiner_bryant I gotcha! The lack of certain codecs, really just AAC audio in my use, is frustrating and I wish they could implement it. Also really wish Affinity would come to Linux!
I run a video production company and we have an all Linux pipeline using Resolve Studio, Blender, Autograph, Krita & Inkscape, and more! Works great... minus the AAC audio thing, but we don't shoot with anything that uses it so very rarely do we have to transcode. Also, it really does require NVIDIA
@gardiner_bryant Haven't really tried VM's much, outside of testing new distros, but that seems like a good solution
@micahbp unfortunately, I do not. I use DaVinci Resolve and Affinity Photo for my creative work and I use them on Windows.
Davinci has a Linux build but it doesn't support the common video codecs that I use on Linux so I have to use Windows.
I do have a multi-GPU PC set up and I'm passing my RTX 3090 through to a VM... so that's nice, at least. Haha
