Firefox and Thunderbird are still not bad software.. The issue is bad upper management and bad PR managers these opensource project hire. Many other opensource project suffer from the same issue of bad PR managers who generally are infamous of saying all the coperatey woke stuff which many people hate.

My problem with Firefox isn't that, but their removal of the preference to disable WebPee and this new data collection facility to support Google's effort to get rid of third-party cookies — in the end we very predictably got both: third-party cookies AND new tool for collecting your data.

It's still better than anything based on Google Chrome of course, but I'm staying on 115esr. Should probably roll Thunderbird back too — nothing works in that thing!
