@kaia virtualization with hardware support is very nearly native speed, so much that it barely matters. you can actually sometimes passthrough your gpu to the VM and play virtualized windows games at native speed

Is this still VT-d or is it something new? The former used to only be available on Xeon-capable motherboards and AFAIR, only for Nvidia cards. Time flies by — that's for sure, but has it since become a more mainstream tech or have they reinvented the wheel under different branding?
