#Russia population tired with war:

The number of Russians who would support peace talks with Ukraine and the withdrawal of troops ‘without achieving the goals of the Special Military Operation’ has reached a historic high of 49%, the research centre ‘Chronicles’ has told Vot Tak. One in three - 33% - oppose such a decision. The telephone survey was conducted from 10 to 17 September, 800 respondents over 18 years old took part in it.

One in ten Russians has revised their views over the year: in October 2023, 40% answered the same question in the affirmative. Between the second mobilisation and ending the war with Ukraine, the majority choose the second - 49% versus 29%. At the same time, the number of those ready to go to the front by order of the Ministry of Defence since February 2023 has also decreased by 10% - to 32%. Only 6.6% of Russians under 25 are ready to mobilise.

I'm not sure what's in the original data, but Moscow Times puts it differently, moscowtimes.ru/2024/09/20/reko
They say that 29% support the new wave of mobilisation. This does not necessarily mean that they imagine themselves being a part of it.

I expect most of these to be former military or retired law enforcement, who want to win the war at any cost, but making personal sacrifice. Maybe some of those are mothers who have lost their sons and now want revenge. The majority was never willing to join the army ranks — that is precisely why Pooteen does his best for this war to seem to them as something that only happens on TV.
