I wonder why text in the address bar is that way, I observe this in a lot of software in early stages of development: text not being properly vertically centered in a box having only one line, this has to be something common 🤔

No-o-o!!! 😱

Sorry, I'm allergic to WebPee 😅
In any case, this wasn't a critique on my end, not a request for a fix — I'm just genuinely curious why it's so common.

@m0xee @servo Because that GIF is 5.76 MB and WebP is only 1.3 MB.

@niutech
Yeah, but none of the software I use is built with WebPee support, I can still download and convert it, but most of the time I don't bother 🤷
Also, why GIF? If it's one of those point and click animated images, why not make it a regular video without the audio track? Whatever can open WebPee, can open a video too — I thought it's quite common these days, whatever people send to each other as GIFs are in most cases short videos.

I admit that WebPee is clearly superior to GIF in this particular case, but…
It's ~4.5 times vs over 52 times smaller 😄
Sure, that H264-encoded MP4 is lossy — grossly so, but as you can see, so is that WebPee — it's basically a VP8 video in a trenchcoat.
