Yes, those won't nag the user about software updates, but if they don't want to go into the trouble of updating it themselves, they won't be able to fix it if the update breaks the system, so not updating at all might even be preferable 🤷

I sometimes use even the old ThinkPad T40 with Pentium-M and 512 Mb RAM, but if I was planning on running Firefox with more than one tab on a machine with little RAM, I'd do my best to squeeze every last byte of it, including not using a wallpaper 😂

BTW, I have a similar HP ProBook with Haswell i5, and with 16 Gb RAM it's an amazing machine. Finding DDR3 SO-DIMMs shouldn't be a problem, and it costs pennies, so I'd explore the possibility of adding more RAM.
