I think I still have YellowDog on DVD somewhere, a DVD that I have never used. But even I didn't know where yum name came from 😂
I have a good excuse though — I haven't used rpm-based distros since the very early 2000s.

I think even the modern dnf package manager is somehow based on yup/yum. I might be wrong, though.
Working with RPMs on CDs 22 years ago made me never want to use rpm after that, when apt was so much easier. XD
