My mom in her sixties looks better than that woman, and she lived half of her life in the Soviet Union! Who the fuck is forcing that "hag" in thirties bullshit? 🤔

@m0xee many 30yos today look like hags. Unfortunately. I met women in their late 20s who look at least 50.
@adiz @m0xee genetics doesn't suddenly change within a generation or two. It's just awful lifestyle and abysmal diet.

@newt @adiz
Yeah, diet, lifestyle and quality of healthcare contribute a lot — it became apparent when Russia sanctioned European goods (in response to sanctions that couldn't affect most people 🤦) — people on the streets started looking worse in just two years: food, drugs and spending vacation where most used to became less affordable.
That is why I expect things to be a little better in the US and Western Europe…

@newt @adiz
…but I might be under the wrong impression here — for example, I was quite shocked by how common cancer in the US is.
You can have better diet even spending relatively little if you cook yourself, but a lot of people probably don't have the luxury of time to spend on this so they resort to some sort of fast food.
So yeah, there are many people who look older, I don't look my age either — but I don't encounter these people on the same social media I'm on🤷

@m0xee @newt @adiz oh they have time to cook they just dont do it cus they are lazy

@dick @adiz @newt
Well, if I was employed I certainly won't be able to spend as much time on cooking as I do now. I would probably be spending zero time of social media.
But I would have insurance and would be able to eat at a cafe or have higher quality takeouts.

A lot of people are spending as much time, but aren't making as much — those who are younger are eating junk food, those who have families and are saving every penny are "cooking", but in absolute most cases it's something you can spend as little time as possible on — some processed/convenience food, like dumplings you only have to boil, low-quality spaghetti or potatoes with sausage made out of the same starch, but meat flavoured — essentially also junk food.

@dick
What are you talking about? I'm not "complaining", I can cook and I have the time, but I can see where this problem is coming from. Not everyone enjoys cooking and blaming the people who want to spend the little time they have left on something else is a shitty take, same as "just do not be poor", "just be healthy". Lifestyle didn't change that much, even fast-food didn't appear yesterday out of nowhere and it wasn't such a problem, so maybe something else has contributed.
