@newt Definitely T-series. It looks to have all the bells and whistles.
@newt Fair enough. I shall return to the depths of my duvet and think about what I did. :comfythink:
@thatbrickster hahaha

i'm sort of curious about how much the current state of software has devolved. My idea is to try a device from ~2007 and see how much of my current work can be done on it.
@newt I think a Core 2 Quad would still be sufficient for basic tasks. Only limiting factor would be RAM, I think.
@thatbrickster I found X60 with C2Duo for like 50 euro. With SSD and mostly alive battery.

The main problem is the graphics card, it ships with GMA945 which had a notoriously shit L'Eunuchs driver.

Also, I reckon, most software wouldn't be happy on a 1024x768 screen lol. I had a thread on this subject a couple of years ago, you might appreciate it.

@newt @thatbrickster
I might get one for free soon! Core2Duo would be perfect for me.
That video chip used to work well, problems came with recent incarnations of Mesa when priorities shifted, for some software it might make sense to force software rendering, some things (e.g. ioquake3) work fine as they are. As for resolution, my old T43 and T40 work fine — I mean, yeah, you won't be doing CAD work at such a resolution — that's for sure, but for terminal stuff and web browsing it's fine.
