I must thank whoever is responsible for the sound stuff in L'Eunuchs. The pro audio support actually works, I can control each channel individually.

The card has 4 outputs, but only two knobs. The other two outputs can only be controlled in software smh. Not that it matters much, but I'm still pleased to know I won't have to reverse engineer another USB bullshit protocol in my life.
Although I still had to install Windows and MiniFuse Control Center. Otherwise the card was stuck uninitialised in a retard mode.

Why did you not make sure it works properly before buying it? 🤔

@m0xee i did look it up on linux audio forums. I didn't know about the retard mode tho.

Is it the same as with input devices: it's in some generic mode for this class of devices with only the basic features and to use the more advanced ones you have to do the actual bringup?

@m0xee yup.

But again, you only need to do it once during the initial setup. After that it just works.

@newt
It sucks! Well, I suppose having just the basic features is still better than your advanced device not working at all.
Won't it switch back on losing power though?

@m0xee no. I unplugged and re-plugged it several times since then. Works fine.
@m0xee oh btw it works even without external power, over usb only. The external power is only needed for the USB hub (yup, it has one).

@newt
Good! Firewire interfaces of this class don't require external power either, unless you're using Sony's port variant branded i.LINK — it's the most compact, think mini-USB sized, but provides no power at all.

@newt
And most Firewire devices — the card I've posted earlier today included, with the exception of the most compact devices like web cams, can act as hubs two: they usually have two ports, you can use either one to connect the device itself and the other one to daisy-chain another device.
