i'm curious what would happen if i legally change my name in one country i'm a citizen of, but "forget" to tell the other one.

@newt
Aren't they separate legal "spaces"? I'm pretty sure you can have two different names in two different countries, considering both allow double citizenship and don't prohibit this explicitly with their local laws 🤔

@m0xee @newt
I mean there's a difference between having two different names and not reporting it.
Legal forms usually ask you if you've had other legal names.

@Paradox @m0xee you aren't gonna believe how many times I lied on official forms or in person to the faces of government officials

@newt @m0xee
At your own risk, buddy.
Really just depends on how much they care and probably what information they have access to.

@Paradox @m0xee just fyi when you are a citizen of A and you live in B, there isn't a quick way for officials from B to access information in A or vice versa. Official requests take a while and often they don't bother unless it's something major. And if A and B aren't on good terms with each other, there definitely is some fun to be had. This is one way to reduce your overall tax burden btw.

@newt @Paradox
But if like to tell about such things online and piss people off, someone might report you sooner or later 😏

@m0xee @Paradox it's all legal! I'm just retarded and forget stuff. I can get you a third world country doctor's note proving this!
