mightve spoken too early my only source was my friend who tends to say things as if they're fact and then i look it up and its some guy on hackernews or reddit speculating and i trace back the exact post that made him say that in the group chat

(hair sometimes grows back differently after cancer treatment. like some patients I saw pre and post had a different hair texture or color or hair even grew back on bald spots)

Hair growth in itself might indicate that he's off chemo and as he's smiling, that might be a good sign — that was probably the reasoning of original poster on HN.
But otherwise yeah — until it's officially confirmed, we're just speculating.
