Someone with Japanese IP address is downloading all episodes of still airing anime show from me via Bittorrent. At quite high speeds/rates!
This feels WEIRD ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

@Hyolobrika
Aren't they airing these shows right on TV in Japan? It's possible that they have missed earlier episodes and want to watch them, but why would they be downloading them with English subtitles instead of raw rips? ๐Ÿค”
And of course it's possible that it's someone speaking English, but using VPN exit node in Japan or even currently living in Japan, but not speaking Japanese โ€”ย but both are rather narrow corner cases and that makes it weird.

Likewise here, never was a fan of spending time in prison ๐Ÿ˜…
Luckily, theft (and by extension of it, copyright infringement and piracy) is often even encouraged here โ€” half the Internet doesn't work if I use it directly, but at least I can do toorrenting right from my home IP-address.

@m0xee @japananon @Hyolobrika The majority of non-Jap weeb living in Japan don't speak enough Japanese for watching raw. When I lived in a guest house 15 years ago the owner kept whining that he was receiving letters from the ISP and cops because people kept downloading animes on the house's IP.
Nowadays I assume most people know to use a VPN or Tribbler, or they do it via the hotel wifi or something.

@Mark @m0xee @Hyolobrika I'm surprised the owner didn't throw their guests to the wolves. Piracy is treated as a pretty serious criminal offense now.
