The kitty is deaf and a real scardy cat. She stopped coming into the loving room when my Akita came in unannounced one day. He wasn't trying to hurt her, but he wanted to get a little sniff and that was too much for her. This was the first time she actually came in on her own since. I always have to carry her in. Hopefully the pup doesn't keep her out.

There are a few tricks to make two cats cooperate, it all boils down to making them eat together, but you don't have to force it and start doing it gradually, like leaving the door half-open.
I'm not sure whether that would work with cat and dog though.

@m0xee roo (kitty) is so scared of everything. She can see kuma (Akita) through a door but the few times she has ended up in the same room his nosy ass scared the hell out of her trying to sniff his new friend. She is relegated to 2 rooms in the house by her own choosing and I think her deafness is a major contributing factor. I'm convinced she thinks everyone but her can teleport.

Yeah, deafness is pretty common for albino cats, and you are right, it might be a major contributing factor 😹
I hope they will find a way to get more comfortable with each other eventually.

@m0xee me too. It sucks she won't explore the rest of the house. I'm about the only one who can hold her. She is very skittish with everyone else
