No, it's not about hangover only — it somehow destabilizes the mood for weeks. When I refrain from drinking for extensive periods I find it easier to deal with stressful situations — a lot of things also seem less boring. These are very minor things — not full-blown depression or inability to carry out your duties, but it's noticeable.

@m0xee @luci_morningstar I can definitely attest to that. I can fix many of the classic hangover symptoms, but some effects linger for much longer, one of them being a lowered mood. It can easily set off a vicious cycle if you're not self-aware enough to notice the pattern. I have learned to wait it out. But it's a rather high cost to pay for what's supposed to be a fun activity. It can be the same with junk food. Enjoyable in the moment but if you're not careful, you feel like crap later on. Sugar crash, bad stomach, etc. Big highs tend to be followed by big lows, in my experience.
