@kravietz They probably just realized that confession achieved this way would have negative credibility even to the TV audience. This shows how poorly everything is coordinated at this point.
@kravietz There's a certain crowd even in Europe and in US who consumes all the propaganda garbage Russia throws at them and ask for more, and they might have even swallowed the Ukraine involvement, but after these self-incriminatory torture videos, it became too much even by their, let's be frank, not very high standards.
