the Internet is changing who becomes friends and lovers with who because it blurs our age and appearance differences. personalities and shared interests come more to the foreground.

@thor I think it always worked exactly like that, because curiosity and other "romantic" stuff subsides and if you don't share interests or worldview, you just end up in an unhappy marriage, frustration starts growing and it might might end even worse.
So no, it doesn't take longer — just always keep in mind what you want from that person and don't waste their time if you are not interested romantically and don't let that person be the one wasting your time 🤷
