Yes, it's that stable/awesome.

You sometimes have to migrate things, but there will be a news post on the homepage for it and an install message as well for you to read.

Happened to me a couple of times too. On my vintage T40 that has only ~10Gb partition for Void.
Putting "vkpurge rm all", probably together with "xbps-remove -O" into cron.monthly might take care even of that 😄
