I'd just put a disclaimer telling them use a browser that doesn't shit on you and your privacy instead. If they don't want to that's their problem.

I'm pretty happy with Brave to be honest, the updates on their Ubuntu repo have been pretty consistent.

I have all the crypto stuff disabled. When I start it, it looks like this. Also I have 12 GiB of ram and almost never go over 5 GiB, even with a gorillion tabs open, so bloat is a non-issue on this machine.
