But I think it's true! I respect women fighting for their rights, but despite that I've always found talks about patriarchy in Russia quite funny — there's no such tradition. Of course domestic violence isn't uncommon — that's because a lot of people are poor and live like cattle, not because of tradition. Russian middle-class girls are usually quite independent, a lot of them are spoilt, not submissive at all.

@useless_idiot Most of those who were ready to play the good wife part have already moved to the West to their tradwife-appreciating husbands. But what's inside isn't con wonderland at all, it's the worst of all worlds: we have tons of dyed hair queercommunists and priests with smelly beards who like to grab young boys in all interesting places — all at the same time. Add absence of rule of law to the mix — there, you have it. Most protests and political life happens in Twitter threads.
