it just occurred to me that intelligence and executive function can compensate for each other.

a highly intelligent person can perform intellectually challenging tasks with less effort, so they don't need as much discipline.

a highly disciplined person doesn't need to be as intelligent, because they can just work harder to achieve the same result.

P = I × E

power equals intelligence times execution.

another word for human power might be "executive intelligence".

i have #ADHD, so my E is low, but i also have 83rd percentile intelligence, so this feels really important. it helps explain why being a geek has turned out to be so ineffective for me in terms of life success.

it also helps explain why people get so confused that someone like me hasn't accomplished more.
