@adiz In the city they are, even from pedestrian's perspective. No one seems to get my hate towards them — yes, I want to be able to walk around with my headphones on and feel safe, what's wrong with that?
I have nothing against cycling in the country, I even do it myself 😄
Odd thing is, now we have these electric scooters (or whatever they are called) everywhere and everyone seems to agree on hating them — but it's literally the same, cyclists were just as bad at using brakes.
@m0xee@social.librem.one I don't have a problem with cycling proper, as I also cycle. My problems are that cyclists, as much as they bitch and moan about motor vehicles, consistently and flagrantly ignore all rules of the road and sidewalks. They just do whatever the fuck they want to do, and then act like the entire rest of society needs to be watching out for them and their safety.
@adiz Yeah, exactly! That's what I mean, when there is no dedicated lane they often prefer taking pedestian space even if it comes at the price of pedestrian's safety, rather than sacrificing their own, even though rules tell them otherwise. They often act as if they do you a favour by using bicycle — and that's definitely not true. Of course it doesn't mean that all of them are arseholes, there are of course those who are polite and well-mannered, but a lot of them are like that😩
@adiz 😲
Whoah! That's the whole new level compared to what I'm used to. Then again, maybe I just forgot about such things because I don't go out a lot nowadays and if I do, it's mosty at night time when there aren't a lot of people on the streets…
I think they are held accountable when there is some accident, but otherwise yes — no one enforces the rules to prevent them from happening and that's a problem.
